Who I Am
Dear Reader,

I’m a 60 year old married woman with two children. Although I was born and raised in a Swiss farming village, I also lived and worked in Boston in the US for 13 years. I love nature and the mountains, good food and sharing it with close friends and family.

During my initial medical training at the University of Geneva, I took opportunities to work in clinics around the world including London, Cairo, Australia and closer to home in Fribourg, Switzerland. Following these studies, I relocated to Boston and trained in endocrinology at Massachusetts General Hospital where I earned the title of Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. Currently, I am Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudoise (CHUV) and have an academic appointment at the University of Lausanne, as well.
After decades of clinical practice in endocrinology and research projects run in the USA and Switzerland, I am now looking forward to sharing my insights regarding the complexities of our bodies and health. I hope to simplify some of this knowledge, so you can use it to improve your wellbeing : the first thing too take away from this blog is that prevention plays to small a role in Western medicine.

I look forward to receiving your questions and comments, and welcome your suggestions about topics you would like me to cover.
It is my sincerest hope that what you learn here can help you enjoy life more fully over the course of your coming years.
